My mom was here last week, for a whole week. I loved having her around! Who doesn't like to double themselves when there are four children to tend to, and a house load of work on top of that?! I think the thing I loved most about her visit, was just being able to bless her in lots of small ways. The fun part is that she is soooo appreciative of every little thing, that she makes it such a joy to think of something else to do together to "make a memory" (a phrase she likes to use). I hope that I can be that much of both a blessing and a joy to my children when they are grown and in this stage of life.
feeding the fish
Breakfast brunch at Mimi's Cafe (the first time mom and I went, Marcail was only a couple of weeks old in Colorado- now she is almost SIX.)
At the neighborhood park
The Air and Space Museum
Tea time!
Doing Marcail's hair- she liked to do this almost every day she was here.
On top of these things, we did several StarBucks runs (there are NO Starbucks in the town she lives in!), we took a relaxing drive into the countryside, and did movie nights complete with fine chocolates and wine. She also sent Andrew and I off twice for date nights! Woohoo!

Anneke,
My gosh, I love you so much. I'm so happy that you were able to spend time with your wonderful mom! I'm sure that she had an incredible time with you guys! As for being as much of a blessing to your kids as your mom is to you...yes you are/will be! I love that you and your mom share such sweet hearts. Your relationship sounds so much like mine and my moms. I remember us talking about how amazing our moms are in the Springs. So it makes my heart smile to see that she got to spend a week with you! Yay yay yay! <3
What a blessing!!! So glad to hear that you guys got some date nights too!
Yay for moms and memories and date nights and starbucks! Love you!
This is indeed a gift. Your Mom continues to get more beautiful everytime I see pictures of her. A heart of pure gold I've always said.
I'm cool with every MONTH delights. So far my blog "The Next Chapter" - was last updated 13 months ago the night before Haley was born. I suppose I've had 13 months worth of a chapter by now. :) The way I'm going it will be "The Next Chapter - Retirement" Ha! :)
Anyways - I'm so happy you had a great time with your mom. And Starbucks - date nights, fine wine and chocolate - woohoo!!! Your mom is such a great lady - I even miss her. I'd like to eat scones, sip coffee and play Rummikub with you two again!
Love you friend!
